S/FTP patch cable of category 6 with halogen-free, flame-retardant jacket. The conductors are made of 100% copper and are double shielded. Gold-plated connectors with strain relief ensure high quality and are suitable for gigabit connections with operating frequencies of up to 250 MHz.

Applications for category 6 cables include voice, multimedia, and data transmission as well as ATM networks. Halogen-free cables are difficult to ignite and minimize smoke generation, as the dangerous release of halogenated combustion gases is excluded.

The Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (S/FTP) features a metallic shield around each pair of wires (FTP) and an additional overall metallic shield (S). Compared to unshielded cables, shielded cables exhibit minimal impedance or reactance deviations. The transmission parameters remain relatively constant even at high frequencies and are better than those of UTP cables.

Cat 6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz and are particularly used in professional settings. While longer lengths may affect transmission speed, slight excess lengths are generally acceptable depending on external influences. Application areas for Cat 6 include voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
