Applications for Category 5e cables include all services of Class D, such as voice, multimedia, and data transmission, as well as ATM networks. The shielding of the wires is done via a foil overall shield. Additionally, the cable features a special strain relief and a halogen-free jacket that is highly flame-resistant. The extremely halogen-free jacket ensures that no toxic substances can be released in the event of a fire.
