Travelstar® Z7K500 is HGST's second generation of 2.5-inch, 7mm-high, 7200rpm hard drives with capacities from 250GB to 500GB and Advanced Format drives, increasing the physical sector size from 512 bytes to 4,096 (4k) for increased capacity and error correction capabilities.

features. Travel Z7K500 is the first 2.5-inch HDD with a 6Gb/s SATA interface and 32MB cache. It delivered the highest performance in PCMark Vantage tests at 7200 rpm. 500GB HDDs have been developed as single-media models as direct replacements for standard 9.5mm HDDs, for use in notebooks, as external storage and for gaming consoles, as well as with new, slimmer and more robust device designs.
