Product details

The Ultrastar DC HC300 series offers drives with low to medium capacity that are cost-effective to purchase while still providing fast and reliable data access for traditional data center applications.

The Ultrastar DC HC320 is based on a proven 5-platter air platform that utilizes conventional magnetic recording technology (CMR) in a 3.5-inch form factor. Compared to the previous generation Ultrastar 7K6000, the DC HC320 offers 33% more capacity, a performance increase of up to 12%, and uses media with a slightly larger diameter. It features a second-generation two-stage micro-actuator that enhances head positioning accuracy for improved drive performance. The increase in write performance is also supported by Western Digital's media cache architecture, a disk-based cache technology that provides a large cache area on the hard drive, thereby improving reliability and data integrity during unexpected power outages.
