WD Ultrastar DC HA210

The Ultrastar DC HA210 - formerly known as the Ultrastar 7K2 - a member of the HA200 series, provides fast data access in enterprise-class capacity optimized storage systems. The enhanced RAFF technology of the DC HA210 includes sophisticated electronics to monitor the drive and correct linear and rotational vibration disturbances in real time - especially useful in multi-drive arrays and rack mounting systems with high read/write performance. Designed for workloads up to 550 TB per year, the Ultrastar DC HA210 provides affordable storage capacity for high-intensity enterprise applications.

The Ultrastar DC HA210 features a SATA 6Gb/s interface and native 512-byte (512n) sector size to ensure consistent, high performance and compatibility with legacy data center applications. The two-stage actuator technology provides a head positioning system that improves position accuracy over the data tracks and allows data to be written to and read from the drive more reliably.

The multi-axis shock sensor system automatically detects the smallest shock events and compensates for them to protect stored data on the hard disk. Ramp Load/Unload technology keeps the recording heads away from the disks during idle time and power down, ensuring significantly less wear and tear on the recording heads and media and better protection of the drives during transport. Using dynamic fly-height technology, the height of each read/write head is adjusted in real time to ensure optimum reliability and performance. This drive has an integrated, cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator. If you use Secure Erase, the drive will overwrite the entire surface of the hard disk, including areas that are not accessible to users.
