WD Ultrastar DC HA210

The Ultrastar DC HA210, formerly known as Ultrastar 7K2, is a member of the HA200 series and offers fast data access in capacity-optimized enterprise-class storage systems. The enhanced RAFF technology of the DC HA210 includes sophisticated electronics to monitor the drive and correct linear and rotational vibration disturbances in real-time, which is particularly beneficial in multi-drive arrays and rack-mounted systems with high read/write performance.

The Ultrastar DC HA210 is designed for workloads of up to 550 TB per year and provides affordable storage capacity for high-intensity enterprise applications. It features a SATA 6Gb/s interface and a native 512 Byte (512n) sector size to ensure consistent high performance and compatibility with legacy data center applications.

The dual-stage actuator provides a head positioning system that improves positional accuracy over the data tracks, enabling more reliable data writing and reading. The multi-axis shock sensors automatically detect even the smallest shock events and compensate for them to protect stored data on the hard drive.

The Ramp Load/Unload technology keeps the recording heads away from the platters during idle time and shutdown, significantly reducing wear on the recording heads and media, while also ensuring better protection of the drives during transport.

By utilizing dynamic fly-height technology, the height of each write/read head is adjusted in real-time to ensure optimal reliability and performance. This drive features an integrated, cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator. When using Secure Erase, the drive overwrites the entire surface of the hard disk, including areas not accessible to users.
