The Ultrastar Data60 storage platform is a key element of the next generation of disaggregated storage and software-defined storage (SDS) systems. The Ultrastar Data60 offers up to 1.2 PB of raw storage with our 20 TB SMR HDDs in a compact and efficient form factor. The Ultrastar Data60 meets the demanding storage requirements of large enterprise customers, storage OEMs, cloud service providers, as well as resellers and integrators who need dense, shared HDDs.

IsoVibe Vibration Isolation Technology

Precise cuts in the chassis provide a suspension for the drives within the enclosure, isolating them from transmitted vibrations. The result is that consistent performance is maintained, even when all drives are under heavy load.

ArcticFlow Thermal Zone Cooling Technology

By introducing cooler air into the center of the enclosure, the drives operate at lower and more uniform temperatures than in conventional systems. This results in lower fan speeds, reduced vibrations, lower power consumption, quieter operation, and ultimately higher reliability.

Western Digital Resource Manager

A GUI-based tool that enables real-time monitoring and management of the platform, displaying a consolidated dashboard with key information. Additional views allow for platform configuration, health monitoring, and maintenance.
