2 TB, 3.5"Product details
Capacity – Up to 6 TB of enterprise-class storage on HGST's proven 5-disk platform of the 7th generation.
Performance – Up to 3 times faster random write performance and 25% faster sequential write performance compared to the 7K4000.
12 Gb/s SAS and 6 Gb/s SATA – 12 Gb/s SAS for high-performance data centers; compatible with 6 Gb/s SAS.
As petabyte growth continues at a rapid pace, enterprise and cloud data centers are under extreme pressure to improve storage efficiency. To address this challenge, HGST introduces the Ultrastar 7K6000 model, a standard 3.5-inch hard drive with up to 6 TB capacity for capacity-optimized enterprise applications.
The Ultrastar 7K6000 offers 50% more capacity and 33% better energy efficiency in terms of watts per terabyte compared to its predecessor. It also features greater storage efficiency through class-leading performance, delivering up to 3 times higher write throughput, even under heavier workloads, thanks to HGST's media cache architecture. This is a disk-based caching technology that provides a large non-volatile cache memory on the hard drive. Media cache also enables improved reliability and data integrity during an unexpected power failure.
