Mid-Capacity Hard Drives
The Ultrastar DC HC300 series delivers cost-effective hard drives with low to mid-capacity, ensuring fast and reliable data access for traditional applications in data centers.
Cost considerations and quick data access are the primary criteria for selecting HDDs for data centers. IT managers must create storage tiers as part of specialized solutions for on-premises, off-premises, and cloud storage. Helium-filled drives offer the highest storage capacities, while air-filled storage media provide other equally significant advantages. With lower acquisition costs, the ability to utilize models that have been on the market longer, and higher access density, they are the ideal choice to achieve the desired performance level while adhering to budget constraints.
The Ultrastar DC HC300 series meets today’s data center requirements with storage capacities ranging from 4 to 10 TB and higher performance than previous generations. The drives in this product line are suitable for various applications, including traditional storage arrays, rack-mounted storage enclosures, server-based distributed storage systems, distributed and scalable computing infrastructures, as well as block and file storage architectures. They are offered with 7,200 RPM and SATA (6 Gbit/s) or SAS (12 Gbit/s) interfaces, along with Advanced Format 4Kn and 512e options. The 4 TB models also come in a 512n version to support older systems with a native block size of 512 bytes.
Technological innovation enhances the efficiency and performance of older conventional systems. The Ultrastar DC HC300 series is based on a proven and cost-effective 3.5-inch model platform with air filling and Conventional Magnetic Recording.
