Three years have passed since the theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World were destroyed by dinosaurs escaping containment. Isla Nublar is now abandoned by humans, while the surviving dinosaurs struggle for survival in the jungles.

As the island's dormant volcano begins to rumble, Owen and Claire launch a campaign to save the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is determined to find Blue, his lead raptor, who is still missing in the wild, and Claire has developed a respect for these creatures, which has now become her mission.
