Votronic 6065 StandBy-Charger 24V

The VOTRONIC StandBy Charger is designed for the automatic recharging and maintenance of the starter battery or the auxiliary battery when the mains charger, solar charge controller, or generator has only one charging output. The device can be easily retrofitted by simply connecting it between the on-board and starter battery or between the on-board and auxiliary battery, without needing to change the existing wiring. For example, when the mains charger is in operation and charging the on-board battery, a small portion of the charging current is used to charge the second battery (starter battery or auxiliary battery) depending on the state of charge. This maintenance charging operates automatically and can be recognized by an increased voltage level of the second battery. Overcharging of the second battery is excluded, as the charging voltage is reduced by at least 0.6 V and the charging current is limited to 3 A (2 A for the 24 V variant). Ensure that both batteries have the same nominal battery voltage of 12 V / 12 V or 24 V / 24 V, as mixed operation of 12 V and 24 V is not possible. Caution: The StandBy Charger is only suitable for use with lead batteries (acid / gel / AGM technology) and not for the combination of LiFePO4 and lead (starter) batteries.
