This personal scale operates on the principle of BIA, or bioelectrical impedance analysis. It allows for the determination of body composition within seconds. By measuring electrical resistance (impedance) and incorporating constants as well as individual values (age, height, gender, activity), it can determine body fat percentage and other body metrics. Muscle tissue and water have good electrical conductivity and therefore exhibit lower resistance. In contrast, bone and fat tissue have low conductivity, as fat cells and bone tissue have very high resistance and conduct electricity poorly. Please note that the values obtained from the personal scale are only an approximation of the medical, real analysis values of the body. Only a medical professional can accurately determine body fat, body water, muscle mass, and bone mass using medical methods.
