The UNiKA PRO-STP is a loudspeaker tester specifically designed for sound engineers. In an environment without power amplifiers, engineers can use the loudspeaker tester to output pink noise directly and test the impedance of the speaker system. Alternatively, they can also output the pink noise to the mixing console to conduct general system tests.
The level of the pink noise can be individually adjusted for subwoofers, midrange drivers, compression drivers, and tweeters. Additionally, pink noise can be fed into self-powered speaker boxes via an XLR line output.
By pressing the DC-OHMS-TEST button, a voltage of 5 VDC is applied to the output terminals selectable via the push buttons, allowing for the observation of diaphragm movement and the detection of polarity errors in speakers and wiring. Furthermore, a DC ohm test is performed, with three LEDs indicating approximate ranges of 4, 8, or 16 ohms. This is helpful for identifying faulty speakers in enclosures where the diaphragms cannot be easily observed, as well as in enclosures with multiple speakers in parallel series configurations.
The PRO-STP can be powered either by four AA batteries or by an external 1 A/6 VDC power adapter.
