Product details
Ubisoft is bringing the new IP For Honor to consoles and PC at an undisclosed date, but the Deadliest Warrior-like concept and the focus on close combat are already building anticipation. At the heart of For Honor are three medieval melee classes: the Knight, the Samurai, and the Viking, all of which will be used on the same objective-based battlefield. Each fighter class has its own unique abilities, weapons, and advantages that players can utilize against one another.
The gameplay and combat initially resemble the Musou genre, mixed with AI waves in a MOBA style, but it seems that combat control and finesse take a much higher priority when dueling another player. The Art of Battle control scheme allows players to use the right stick to control sword fighting and choose which side of the blade to strike or block with.
For Honor will undoubtedly have a multiplayer focus, as it has been announced that it will be team-based (at least one mode will be 4v4), where players must fight for control points on the battlefield. Players will likely run back and forth between points on the battlefield, slicing through AI in a Musou style along the way, and engaging in several duels at interesting locations. The gameplay video indicates that players will experience a kind of permanent death at a certain point in the battle.
