Ubiquiti

With the UniFi Access Points AP-AC-SHD from Ubiquiti, you can build Wi-Fi networks of any size. Whether you have just one UniFi Access Point or a whole dozen (or more) in operation, managing, controlling, and monitoring your network remains manageable and efficient thanks to a single centralized management hub.

The SHD (Secure High Density) model has been specifically designed for highly sensitive data connections. A dedicated security radio constantly scans the frequency environment spectrum, checking the network for potentially harmful activities as well as the best network performance. This way, the access point also serves as a Wireless Intrusion Prevention/Detection System (WIPS/WIDS) across all channels.

Through the UniFi Controller software, you can manage all access points in your network and gain detailed information about system traffic. The UniFi Controller is also equipped with hotspot functionality, providing your customers with extensive options: integration for credit card payments, voucher-based authentication, hotspot manager for creating vouchers, and much more. The software's dashboard also gives you an overview of all important and current information about your network at any time.

The original 802.11ac Wave 1 SU-MIMO (Single-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology allowed access points from previous generations to communicate with only one client at a time. The innovative 802.11ac Wave 2 MU-MIMO technology (Multi-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output) now enables communication with multiple clients simultaneously, greatly enhancing the user experience.

Key specifications

Operating modes

Describes the function the device plays within the network, for example as a central transmitter, amplifier or connection bridge. A device can often support several modes.

Number of RJ45/LAN ports

Max. port speed

Describes the maximum data transfer rate. Is not necessarily supported by all ports.

Access Point Functions

Wi-Fi standard

Indicates which Wi-Fi protocol a device supports. Newer standards offer higher data transfer speeds and greater stability. A compatible router is required to use this feature.

Wi-Fi frequency band

The frequency band of a WLAN signal describes how many 2.4GHz or 5GHz signals the router can send simultaneously.

A router that uses dual- or even tri-band technology can better distribute the load in the network and thus rarely reaches its limit in terms of WLAN speed.
