Product details
The TL-SG1008MP is a Gigabit desktop/rack switch with 8 ports, all of which support the PoE+ standard. It provides an easy way to expand a wired network by transmitting power and data over a single Ethernet cable. With a total power budget of 153 W and up to 30 W per port, the TL-SG1008MP can power more demanding devices such as wireless access points (APs), IP cameras, or IP phones. Additionally, the TL-SG1008MP features innovative energy-efficient technology that reduces power consumption, making it an environmentally friendly solution for your business network.
All 8 ports of the TL-SG1008MP support the PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) standard, allowing for the automatic detection and powering of all IEEE 802.3af / at compatible devices. In this scenario, electrical power is transmitted along with data in a single cable, enabling you to expand your network where there are no electrical cables or outlets available, and to power devices such as APs, IP cameras, or IP phones.
The TL-SG1008MP includes a priority feature that protects the system in case of overload. If the total power consumption of all PoE+ devices reaches or exceeds 153 W, a priority is assigned among the 8 PoE+ ports. At this point, the system will cut off power to the port with the lowest priority.
The priority arrangement is as follows: Port 1 > Port 2 > Port 3 > Port 4 > Port 5 > Port 6 > Port 7 > Port 8. This feature safeguards the system during power overload situations. For example, if Ports 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 are using 30 W each (the maximum power per port is 30 W, and the total system power is 153 W), and an additional device drawing 25 W is plugged into Port 3, the system will cut off power to the port with the lowest priority.
