Tonies Favorite Masterpieces: The Nutcracker

Our favorite masterpieces bring the works of the very great to the very young. An age-appropriate and entertaining radio play based around Peter Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Nutcracker". On Christmas Eve, Clara is given a nutcracker by her godfather Drosselmeyer. During the night she has a strange dream: the Nutcracker is fighting with his toy soldiers against the army of the Mouse King. Clara helps him, whereupon the Nutcracker turns into a prince. Together they travel to the kingdom of sweets. They get caught in a snowstorm and end up in the castle of Zuckerburg. There the Sugarplum Fairy celebrates a wonderfully sweet feast for Clara, who has redeemed the prince. What a pity that this was all just a dream - or was it?
