Product details
The Thermal Grizzly WireView GPU is a device for measuring the power consumption of PCI expansion and plug-in cards with PCIe power connectors. The U-shaped design of the adapter allows for optimized cable routing for clean cable management.
What does the WireView GPU do?
The WireView GPU enables the measurement of the power consumption of PCI expansion and plug-in cards and records this data to determine power usage. This data can be used, among other things, to calculate the power costs of a graphics card or to compare power consumption with other graphics cards. By measuring power consumption, it is possible to determine the power usage of PCI expansion/plug-in cards over a specific period or in certain applications. Additionally, power spikes that may occur during the operation of current high-end graphics cards can be identified. The measured values are displayed on the OLED screen of the WireView GPU.
Why a power measurement device for the graphics card?
The WireView GPU is particularly interesting for extreme overclockers and hardware reviewers, as it can display the power consumption of a graphics card in real-time. This is also helpful when testing the performance of a graphics card. Since no additional software needs to run to capture power consumption during testing, benchmark results are not affected by the measurement. When manually overclocking the graphics card, the adjustments made in the software can be directly monitored on the OLED display of the WireView GPU in the form of changed power consumption. In addition to displaying real-time power usage, the WireView GPU stores the measured data in its internal memory to capture the average consumption of the graphics card over an extended period.
