Sous-vide is a cooking method where meat, fish, or vegetables are gently prepared in a water bath at a consistently low temperature. The raw ingredients are first sealed in a vacuum bag. The water temperature corresponds to the core temperature of the food that you want to achieve. The cooking duration depends on the type and size of the food and is often only estimable with some experience.

To ensure that your dish reaches the exact core temperature, the sous-vide thermometer is used. Stick a piece of the included foam tape onto the cooking bag. Now, pierce the tape with the extra-thin stainless steel probe into the food. The foam tape expands and seals the small puncture hole. This way, the vacuum in the cooking bag remains intact. The probe stays in the water bath throughout the entire process.

You always have the core temperature in view and can see exactly when the optimal cooking state is reached.
