The Tecmate Optimate TM500 DC-DC battery charger is a versatile charging solution that draws power from a 12V source battery to charge another battery, eliminating the need for a mains power connection. This automatic charger adapts to different battery types, including lead-acid STD, AGM, GEL and lithium-ion batteries with LiFePO4/LFP technology. It has a 2A constant current charging capability with a working range of 2V to 14.4V, allowing it to revitalise deeply discharged batteries from 2V. The charger operates in six automatic steps for appropriate battery health and includes battery management functionality to reactivate from sleep or deep discharge protection modes. With a weatherproof housing measuring approximately 15cm x 10cm x 5cm and weighing approximately 500g, the TM500 is suitable for indoor and outdoor use in temperatures down to -40°C. It includes a 30 cm input cable and 180 cm charging cable with SAE connectors plus fused battery terminals for secure connections. The unit offers full electronic protection against overcharging, short-circuiting and sparking for vehicle electronics. With standby power consumption below 0.5W and energy-efficient 24-7 battery conservation, this charger is designed for long-term battery conservation. It switches off automatically when disconnected from the target battery and protects the source battery from complete discharge. Suitable for 12V batteries from 6Ah capacity for lead-acid types and 12.8V/13.2V LiFePO4 batteries from 2Ah capacity, the TM500 offers reliable battery testing and maintenance functionality for automotive, marine and leisure vehicles.
