Like its predecessors UD-501 and UD-503, this device features a dual-mono circuit design for processing audio signals with even greater purity, utilizing the VERITA AK4497 DAC on each channel. This enhances the signal-to-noise ratio, as each channel is now processed separately in mono mode. Additionally, it supports playback of native DSD512 (22.5 MHz) and 768 kHz/32-bit PCM. The analog circuit section, which is crucial for sound quality, includes four TEAC-HCLD buffer amplifier circuits. These allow for various driving modes (fully balanced drive for balanced output and parallel drive for unbalanced output). The headphone circuit section is a standout feature. The completely new 4.4mm headphone jack, called Pentaconn, enables both balanced and active-ground connections through the same jack. Traditional 1/4-inch phone jacks are also available.
