TEAC Cr-H101dab

We have designed the CR-H101DAB as a high-resolution CD receiver with a USB DAC based on an innovative concept: it combines CD receiver components with TEAC's desktop audio technologies, which we have refined and optimized over many years.

Thanks to a USB DAC that supports playback of high-resolution audio files at 192 kHz/24 bit from a PC, a variety of audio sources such as CDs and Bluetooth can be processed. The housing is made of elegant, machined aluminum plates. The top and side plates are about 3 mm thick, while the front plate is approximately 5 mm thick. This makes the housing extremely robust and resistant to external interference. The compact design fits comfortably in two hands and features a ventilation grille and side protection strips similar to those found on high-end power amplifiers. The volume and audio source selection knobs on the front of the device are also made of aluminum, conveying a sense of coolness and precision characteristic of solid metal.

The result is a distinctly pleasant tactile feel of the knobs. The DAC, a core component of digital audio equipment, is a PCM1795 from Burr Brown, which offers a wide dynamic range and low distortion potential, and has long been used in high-end digital-to-analog converters. This allows for playback from various sources, showcasing the musical expressiveness in full. An extremely efficient Class D amplifier is used as the power amplifier, achieving an output power of 26 W + 26 W (4 Ω). In addition to the LS-101HR speakers, which are specifically designed for compatibility with the CR-H101DAB, the device can also reliably drive higher-end bookshelf speakers.
