Tamiya N.Am.F-51D Mustang

The display model is a replica of the F-51D Mustang by North American. The F-51 was perfectly designed for the Korean conflict and was also suitable for operations with Forward Air Controllers. The main disadvantage of the fighter aircraft was the vulnerability of its coolant systems. The F-51 was intended for air defense and small arms fire against ground units. However, this led to the Mustang having the highest damage rate of all aircraft in Korea due to its susceptibility. In three years of service, 194 of the fighter planes became inoperable, with only 10 aircraft shot down.
