Art. No.: 300060781 Art. Description: 1:72 II-2 Stormovik. The model is a replica of the Illyushin II-2 attack aircraft, which was the representative ground attack plane of the Russian military during World War II. By the end of the war, over 36,000 units of this model had been built, making it the most produced military aircraft in aviation history. The aircraft is characterized by its armor, which protected not only the cockpit but also the engine and fuel tank. Production of the single-seat version of the II-2 began in March 1942; however, heavy losses led to the development of a two-seat version with a rear gunner. The II-2 played a significant role in the Russian victory over the German forces.
