The model is a replica of the Japanese fighter Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien. Due to its liquid-cooled engine, the Hien was mistakenly thought to be a German aircraft and earned the nickname "Tony." The fighter aircraft saw its first combat actions in early 1943 and demonstrated its competitiveness with a top speed of 580 km/h. The TAMIYA model kit version impresses with high precision and attention to detail.
