No more worries with too dry cones and oxidized wine. When wine refrigerators are operated at living temperatures, the relative humidity in the interior increases automatically - due to the cooling effect - and normally reaches the approx. 50% required for wine storage. In the cold season, however, the heated room air can literally dry out. In cold cellars, the heating system of the climate control cabinet is also activated, which further exacerbates the problem of dry air. Now, if the ambient air is dry for weeks or even months, the relative humidity in the wine climate control cabinet can also drop to the point where the cones dry out and oxygen enters the bottle. Once this happens, the wine goes bad within a short period of time. Swisscave has developed a unique, electronically controlled humidification system for just this purpose, which allows the user to set the desired relative humidity to any value between 60 and 85%. The intelligent control system uses sensors to ensure that the interior is regularly supplied with additional moisture if the air is too dry. This is the first time Swisscave has introduced a device that actively controls and monitors not only the temperature, but also the relative humidity inside the room.
