To optimize performance and harness the full speed potential of SATA III hard drives, this HDD backplane supports SATA III with transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbit/s when used with a compatible controller.

Simply mount the drive bay into an available 5.25-inch drive bay of the host computer and insert a 3.5-inch SATA HDD into the (removable) caddy. Connecting the SATA hard drive to the computer is straightforward. Slide the caddy into the drive bay, which can also be locked to prevent unauthorized removal of the drive. Features a ball-bearing fan in the front panel, aluminum construction, and 25,000 insertion cycles.
