With this SATA III controller featuring 6 ports (6 Gbit/s), you can add six SATA 6 Gbit/s hard drives (HDDs) or solid-state drives (SSDs) to your computer system or server via an available PCIe x4 card slot. The card supports SATA III and PCI-Express 3.0 specifications. The ASM1166 provides 6 ports for 6 Gbit/s SATA performance. Equipped with the ASM1166 controller, this SATA card allows the connection of six high-performance SATA 6 Gbit/s drives with a combined total throughput of up to 16 Gbit/s. The SATA drives are connected via six individual SATA ports on the card (SATA cables sold separately). Comprehensive compatibility: The controller card is fully supported by all major operating system platforms, including Windows (7, 8, 10), macOS (10.10 and higher), and Linux (2.6.32 and higher). The card also supports port multipliers.
