Convert two internal SFF-8643 ports into two external SFF-8644 ports.

With this mini-SAS adapter, you can convert two internal SFF-8643 ports on a controller card into two external SFF-8644 ports. This allows you to connect external SAS or SATA drives, for example in DAS (Direct Attached Storage) devices with an internal backplane or a SAS controller, and gain additional storage.

The adapter can be connected to up to eight drives and is compatible with 12 Gbit/s SAS drives as well as 6 Gbit/s SATA drives. The adapter is easy to install and can be mounted in any new or older desktop expansion slot, including PCI, AGP, and PCIe. To ensure compatibility with most computer cases, full-profile and low-profile mounting brackets are included.
