Begin your journey as one of eight protagonists, each with their own talents and goals. Where does your journey begin? Who will join you? And where will you go next? All these decisions and much more depend solely on the player.

Each character can use path actions to interact with the figures they encounter in unique ways. For example, the warrior Olberic can challenge almost anyone to a duel. Through such a duel, he might expose a villain or persuade someone blocking his way to step aside. The dancer Primrose, on the other hand, can entice others to follow her. With this power, she could find and bring back a missing person or lure her enemies into a trap. She can even summon a charmed character to assist her in battle.

Fights here are a blend of an easy-to-learn, turn-based system and entirely new mechanics. One of these mechanics is the Boost system. This allows players to accumulate Boost Points in each round of combat. These can be used to greatly enhance the strength of attacks and abilities or to execute chain attacks. Aim for an enemy's weak point to break their defense, then strike decisively while they are weakened. Alternatively, use them to help an ally in distress. Finding the right moment for a Boost can be the key to victory.

There are countless possible strategies, and tactical skill is rewarded.
