Dragon Quest Heroes II is a hack-and-slash, field-exploring action RPG that sends players on a new adventure to restore order in a once-peaceful world plagued by hordes of monsters and epic battles. Up to 4 players can team up in cooperative multiplayer mode to defeat swarms of enemies and challenging boss monsters. There is also a variety of playable characters, each with unique moves and abilities – including many familiar faces from the Dragon Quest series as well as four brand-new heroes who must come together to defeat an unknown threat looming over the Seven Kingdoms.

Once upon a time, many years ago, there was a long and terrible war. When the war finally ended, the people of the world made a solemn pact to never fight again. The world was divided into seven kingdoms, and peace reigned for a thousand years.

One day, cousins and aspiring knights Lazarel and Teresa reunite in the kingdom of Harba, far from their Dunisian homeland. They are unaware that the Dunisian army is about to invade, led by their old friend Prince Cesar.
