- Bright image
- Strong colours
- Wide viewing angle
- Flat black level
- Moderate sound
- Unlit remote control
Sony's 65-inch 4K LCD TV Sony XR-65X90J offers good picture and sound quality overall. The screen is very bright, it has a wide colour gamut and the viewing angles are relatively wide. As is often the case with LCDs, the black level is lacking. As long as it doesn't have to be excessively loud, the speakers produce a passable stereo sound. The equipment leaves almost nothing to be desired.
- Best picture quality in this price range
- good sound
- Detailed operating instructions in the menu only
Sony offers a great technology package in the 1000-euro price range: with 100 hertz, the highest contrast, very well-tuned colours and decent sound. The large app selection includes Sky - not common for Android. In addition, there is Sony's own Bravia Core video library.
In the test, the Sony X90J delivered a particularly brilliant picture in the 1000-euro class: very high-contrast and colourful, and thanks to its large brightness reserves, it is also ideally suited for rooms flooded with light. The sound is also above average. Nice bonus: the onboard Bravia Core video library with five top-quality films to choose from.
