Product details
Take advantage of the creative freedoms offered by oversampling from the large high-resolution full-frame sensor and create stunning 4K images. Capture every detail of the scene with shallow depth of field and breathtaking bokeh in a true cinematic look. With more than 15 stops of dynamic range and dual base ISO, you can capture every nuance, from fine shadow details to reflective highlights, in a palette of flawless colors.
Ensure a clear representation with the enhanced fast hybrid AF, which seamlessly tracks your subject with unparalleled speed and precision. The difference is clearly visible in high-quality documentaries, commercials, and event applications.
The PXW-FX9 revolutionizes full-frame film production with its unique ergonomics and technology for shooting on the go. The electronically adjustable ND filter for full-frame cameras offers endless possibilities for shooting in changing lighting conditions. Integrated Wi-Fi and 12G-SDI support advanced workflows, while the optional XDCA-FX9 module further expands the capabilities of the PXW-FX9.
The camera's 6K full-frame sensor enables top-notch recordings in DCI 4K, Ultra HD, and HD resolutions. The powerful image processing with debayering and oversampling ensures image quality that goes beyond the limits of traditional Super 35mm sensors. Additionally, the back-illuminated CMOS image sensor utilizes Sony's Exmor R technology to enhance sensitivity and noise reduction. Compared to a 4K Super 35mm sensor, the 6K sensor of the PXW-FX9 has more than double the surface area, providing a wider field of view and shallower depth of field.
