Product details

The Sony PXW-FS7M2, also known as the Sony FS7, expands the FS series with the new FS7 II camera. The PXW-FS7 II does not replace the PXW-FS7 but is an extension of the lineup. The PXW-FS7 II offers the following enhancements and improvements:

  • BT.2020 Color Space: In addition to S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine, the PXW-FS7 II also allows for the selection of the BT.2020 color space.
  • Variable ND Filter: Similar to the PXW-FS5, ranging from Clear to 7 Stops. The three main ND filter sizes can be selected through the familiar mechanical ND filters.
  • E-Mount Lens Connection: With a bayonet lock and software upgrades via the body, so the lens no longer needs to be rotated for removal. This is particularly helpful when lenses need to be frequently changed while still connected to lens supports and matte boxes. Software updates for lenses can now be performed directly through the body.

Mechanical Changes:

  • The grip extension has been redesigned to allow for easier length adjustment. Both screw connections now feature an Arri rosette, allowing the grip to be positioned further back.
  • The viewfinder mount now has a square tube, preventing the viewfinder from tilting to the side.
  • The closure of the attachment loupe has been simplified: it now just hooks in at the top and closes the bracket at the bottom.
  • 10 assignable buttons (compared to only 6 on the FS7) with a ring for better tactile feedback. New assignable functions include: Push Auto ND, ND Filter Position, Auto ND Filter.
  • The ND filter can now also be adjusted using the wheel on the grip.
  • The ejection of XQD cards has been improved: the cards extend further out after ejection for easier access.
  • Power LED above the power button, so you can immediately see if power is available.
  • The opening direction of the audio control cover has been changed.
