The XDCAM camera PXW-FS7 features an ergonomic grip that allows for easy handling and operation. It is ideal for one-person applications, where the high flexibility of the α-Mount lens system and compatible interchangeable lenses can be fully utilized. The PXW-FS7 is equipped with a 4K Super 35 mm Exmor CMOS sensor and supports recording in 60p or Full HD at high frame rates of up to 180 frames per second.

Available formats include XAVC for recording in 4K 60p, Full HD 60p even at 4:2:2 10-bit recordings, as well as the widely used MPEG-2 HD 422 format, which is employed by many broadcasting stations worldwide. With the optional XDCA-FS7 extension module, additional capabilities for multi-camera shooting and ProRes 422 encoding are unlocked. Connect the HXR-IFR5 interface module and the AXS-R5 recorder to support parallel recordings and 4K/2K RAW recordings at up to 240 frames per second in 2K.

Ergonomic design features of the PXW-FS7 include a handle for easy handling and an adjustable arm.

The PXW-FS7 supports internal recording in 4K resolution as well as a wide range of frame rates (59.94p, 50p, 29.97p, 25p, and 23.98p) and offers excellent sensitivity of ISO 2000 along with a dynamic range of 14 stops.

The PXW-FS7 can continuously record in Full HD on internal XQD storage media at a frame rate of up to 180 frames per second. With an external RAW recorder, images can be recorded in 2K at up to 240 frames per second.

The PXW-FS7 features the α-Mount system with an E-Mount lens mount, which is ideal for the electric 35 mm full-frame zoom lens SELP28135G. The use of A-Mount lenses is possible with the lens adapter LA-EA4.

Sony hat mit der PXW-FS7 auf das S35-Segment unterhalb von 10.000 Euro reagiert und dies mit so viel Power, dass es derzeit den Anschein hat, als würde auch das hausinterne Pro-Kameraportfolio unter ? und oberhalb (Sony F5) der FS7 wenn nicht kannibalisiert so doch zumindest ?angeknabbert?...

Der Camcorder ist zwar nicht sofort optimal einsatzbereit, da eine Schulterauflage hinzugekauft werden muss aber bei der Bildqualität gibt es kaum zwei Meinungen.
