Sony MotorStorm: Pacific Rift (Essentials)

The second part of the brutal off-road racer for PlayStation 3 leaves Monument Valley and takes you to a Pacific island with dense jungles, swamps, towering peaks, and steaming volcanoes. Don’t be fooled by the serene landscape. This new environment is as violent and unpredictable as the drivers who visit it. It will crush, scorch, and drown you at every turn.

Like the environment, the opponents this time are smarter and more aggressive, thanks to improved artificial intelligence. There are 16 multi-route tracks featuring all vehicle classes from the first MotorStorm: ATVs, rally cars, buggies, motorcycles, race trucks, mudpluggers, and big rigs, along with the newly arrived monster trucks that can climb, sprint, and roll over any vehicle that gets in their way.

Multiplayer is even more intense: 16 racers can compete online, or up to four players can meet and race in split-screen mode. The extensive support of the PlayStation Network offers sophisticated leaderboards and rankings.

It’s brutal, dangerous, relentless, and unpredictable, and more than just a game – MotorStorm is a way of life. The festival is back this fall and promises to be bigger than ever.
