Infamous: Second Son is the third installment in the Infamous series, a sequel to Infamous and Infamous 2, and is exclusively available for PlayStation 4. This series features a new setting, a new protagonist, and a seemingly totalitarian government controlled by the police. The game takes place seven years after the world of Cole MacGrath and introduces a new protagonist, Delsin Rowe. It is built on next-generation technology and features a completely new hero in the lead role. Infamous: Second Son is set in Seattle, Washington, which has been sealed off by the Department of Unified Protection (DUP), a police and surveillance group responsible for maintaining order and capturing Conduits (people with superhuman abilities).
Similar to the previous Infamous games, the gameplay includes an open-world element. The main character, Delsin Rowe, will have the ability to absorb the powers of other Conduits, with new abilities based on smoke and neon light. The destruction mechanics have also been significantly improved compared to earlier games. More objects can now be destroyed, and once destroyed, they remain so for the rest of the game, unlike in previous Infamous titles. The decision-making mechanic (Karma) will also return in this game, similar to the two previous Infamous games. The choices he makes along his journey will alter the future of everyone around him.
