The 9th Charnel is a psychological survival horror game from a first-person perspective. It offers a gripping and eerie atmosphere as well as an intense action-survival experience. While exploring the many secrets of this world, survival is key—whether stealthily or with weapons. Most of the time, the player must overcome insurmountable threats through stealth and skillful navigation of the environment. As the game progresses and the threats become significantly more complex, players uncover new stories and acquire new weapons. In its scariest moments, the game plays with the player's fears, will to survive, and exploration skills. It is set in a not-so-distant future where people have lost faith in successful human development, are selfish, and governments are corrupt.
