The SilverStone ECU04-E is a PCI-E Gen 2.0 x2 expansion card with an internal 19-pin USB 3.1 connector (supports two ports). It complements the original ECU04 design with two ReDriver chips for significantly
improved performance over longer cable connections. This allows the dual 10 Gb/s bandwidth transfer rate to be maintained at up to 2 meters, as opposed to the 1 meter limitation of USB 3.1. The ECU04-E is also backward compatible with USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 and supports UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) for increased performance. For operating systems with XHCI (eXtensible Host Controller Interface), the ECU04-E can be installed without drivers because it also supports XHCI.
