Siemens LOGO! Communication Interface Module CIM

The new LOGO! CIM module fits perfectly into the existing family of LOGO! communication modules and further expands the possibilities inherent in the small logic module. The focus is on communication via different protocols with various partners and utilizing the module for applications that require internet access but do not have LAN infrastructure available. Communication now supports the use of Modbus RTU and TCP protocols, which significantly simplify the connection of drives, as well as the RESTful API, which is more common in the IT sector. Additionally, the CIM module can be expanded with a regionally adapted radio module that fits inside the housing along with a SIM card and establishes a connection to the cloud with additional antennas. With this setup, functions such as location tracking, time synchronization, SMS sending, as well as visualization, display, and data exchange through cloud providers become possible.
