The Showtec Melodist Install is a DMX-controllable WAV media player designed for DIN rail mounting. It plays stereo WAV files from a micro SD card through two balanced outputs. There is a trigger mode and a playback mode. Settings and playback modes can be adjusted via the LCD display and control buttons on the front. Four status LEDs indicate the status of the player and control signals.

In trigger mode, the Melodist Mobile can play up to 10 WAV files simultaneously, which can be started, paused, and stopped via 10 DMX channels. An additional DMX channel controls the output volume. If no DMX signal is present, the six terminal inputs can be used as triggers to start the first six audio files.

In playback mode, it plays one audio file after another, just like a normal media player. In this mode, the terminal input allows control of start/stop/pause, track selection, folder selection, playback mode, and volume. There are four playback modes: continuous playback, single playback, loop playback, and random playback.
