Product details

Born in the 60s. Loved since forever. The first Seiko 5, the Seiko Sportmatic 5, was developed in 1963. It was the first automatic watch made by Seiko and indeed in Japan to feature a day-date display. The "5" was the promise that every Seiko 5 has five key characteristics: an automatic movement, a day-date display at the 3 o'clock position, water resistance, a recessed crown at the 4 o'clock position, and a case and bracelet designed for durability. Together, and combined with the newly developed springs and shock resistance systems of the time, these features gave the Seiko 5 models their distinctive look and strength.
