Product details
It comes from the award-winning Tower Cooler series by Scythe. Compared to its predecessors, the Mugen 5 impresses with a new design. Its asymmetrical orientation makes it compatible with a wide range of memory modules. Noticeable operational quietness is ensured by the use of Sealed Precision FDB bearings and a rubber decoupling mechanism. The mounting system is optimized for pressure distribution and is compatible with all standard motherboard sockets. As with every Mugen, there is also a PCGH edition of this model. This version features two fans instead of one, but with reduced RPM. Despite the lower noise level, cooling performance remains intact.
Bulky memory modules with passive heat sinks pose no problem for the Mugen 5. Thanks to inclined heat pipes, the cooler is not positioned directly above the base plate but is slightly offset to the rear. This asymmetrical design allows unrestricted access to the memory slots. To guarantee high operational quietness and an average lifespan of 120,000 hours, the Mugen 5 PCGH Edition uses two PWM fans from the newly developed Kaze Flex series, with a control range of 300 to 800 RPM. The sealed liquid bearing (Sealed Precision FDB) minimizes friction and wear through a special oil film. Rubberized contact surfaces have a decoupling effect and prevent the transmission of any vibrations that may occur.
The second generation of the Hyper Precision Mounting System features several improvements regarding user-friendliness. The pre-assembled mounting bar significantly simplifies installation, while screws equipped with springs prevent uneven pressure distribution. For comfortable assembly, an extra-long screwdriver is included with the Mugen 5.
