Scythe Grand Flex SM1225GF12L

The Grand Flex PWM is the latest development from Scythe. Instead of relying on traditional techniques, the core components have been completely redesigned from the ground up. The bearing is based on a sealed liquid bearing (Sealed Precision FDB). The rotor shaft rotates on an oil film created by dynamic pressure, reducing operational noise, friction, and wear on the bearing. The newly designed shape of the fan blades concentrates the airflow towards the areas to be cooled, enhancing cooling performance.

This newly developed bearing is a self-contained system. The rotor shaft itself runs on an oil film. This results in quieter and less wear-prone operation of this fan bearing compared to conventional sliding bearings. The special oil responsible for lubrication, which is temperature resistant up to 250 °C, supports these positive characteristics.

The unique design of the fan blades minimizes turbulence and directs the generated airflow directly to the areas that need cooling. This effect is further enhanced by the angled shape of the fan blades in the inner area.

The Grand Flex comes with vibration dampers for fan installation. These effectively prevent the transmission of any vibrations that may occur to the PC case, actively increasing the smooth operation of the fan.

The fan can be connected directly to the motherboard or a fan controller via the 500 mm long 3-pin connection cable. If this is not possible or desired, a 3-pin to 4-pin Molex adapter is included for direct connection to the power supply.
