The function
The lens hood (also known as a lens flare or sun visor) reduces light falling onto the sensor from the side. The so-called lens flares (light fringes) are reduced, which increases the image quality. The images appear less dull and low in contrast due to the use of the sun visor. In addition, the sunshade offers a certain protection of the front lens against rain and in case of light shocks or touches (fingerprints). For space-saving transport, we recommend mounting the sunshade "upside down" on the lens.
