Product details

The Samsung SM951 M.2 PCIe SSD (AHCI model) is the new performance leader in M.2 form factor SSDs, providing up to 2150MB/s read and 1500MB/s write sequential data transfer rates.

Compatibility notes: The Samsung SM951 PCIe M.2 SSD is generally compatible with a wide variety of systems, as long as support is built into the system UEFI BIOS code. Since the SM951 does not have its own option ROM, this is an essential requirement to be able to install Windows 7/8.1 or Linux. Most Z97-based motherboards are compatible, but note that some boards have just 2x PCIe lanes on the M.2 socket. Check your system documentation, as 4x PCIe lanes are required for maximum performance. Most X99-based motherboards are also compatible; check your system documentation for details. All classic model Mac Pro computers (when combined with the Lycom DT-120) and i7 model Intel NUC are supported. Important note: the SM951 is not compatible with MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini, or the current cylindrical model Mac Pro.
