What is a three-colour LED? Three-colour displays include two differently coloured LEDs. By default, both LEDs light symmetrically and emit a light that is a mixture of both. For example, red and green LEDs together produce yellow light. The emitted light is then a bright yellow. LEDs have many advantages; their longevity and low power consumption are the most important selling points. Additionally, LEDs emit a much lower temperature than incandescent or neon lamps and direct light in one direction, eliminating the need for additional components such as reflectors. However, this is not applicable if the LED display is used as a PCB signal.
