Roland V-Drums Acoustic Design

The Roland VAD516 electronic drum set combines the classic appearance of acoustic drums with advanced digital technology. This successor model to the VAD507 features genuine wooden shells with tunable mesh heads and sophisticated digital pads, delivering an authentic playing experience with response and dynamics comparable to acoustic drums. The V51 sound module provides extensive sound capabilities, equipped with the same high-quality sound library as the premium V71 module in a more compact design.

The set includes a PD-140DSX 14-inch digital snare with eight independent sensors, VH-14D 14-inch digital hi-hat with a multi-sensor system, CY-18DR 18-inch digital ride with multi-touch detection, plus CY-14R-T 14-inch and CY-16R-T 16-inch crash cymbals. The acoustic design components feature PDA100-MS 10-inch, PDA120-MS 12-inch, and PDA140F-MS 14-inch toms with a natural acoustic feel, along with a KD-20-MS 20-inch kick drum with a wooden shell.

The V51 module includes integrated DW Soundworks virtual drum software, providing professional virtual drum instruments for various music genres. Connectivity options include a USB-C audio interface supporting up to 32 individual audio channels, MIDI In/Out/Thru, stereo L/R outputs, direct outs, and Bluetooth audio/MIDI capabilities. The module features a large color display with an intuitive interface, an SD card slot for WAV file import, four additional trigger inputs, and three digital connections for expansion.

Practice functions include Time Check, Quiet Count, Phrase Trainer, Stroke Monitor, and Blast Beat Builder for technique development. The set comes with included hardware: two DCS-30 tom/cymbal stands, a DBS-30 boom stand, and a PDS-5 module stand, finished in Midnight Sparkle with chrome hardware. Note that the hi-hat stand, snare stand, bass drum pedal, drum throne, headphones, and monitor are optional accessories available separately.
