The Powerstroke P3 Classic Fit Coated Drumheads offer a larger inner diameter with a narrower flesh hoop and a step design for older vintage drums that are out of round and have thick overlapping drum coverings. Vintage drums with a thick overlapping seam interfere with the drumhead tension hoop, preventing it from moving over the seam and causing the tension hoop not to rest on the bearing edge. When the standard head is pressed over the shells, it cannot vibrate freely, resulting in wrinkles in the head.
