The sophisticated belt drive in the RP-1000 USB MK2 is among the most powerful of its kind. Unlike a direct-drive turntable, the RP-1000 MK2 transmits power indirectly to the drive hub – the precision-engineered die-cast platter is thus decoupled from the motor. The elastic and high-quality rubber belt absorbs vibrations and ambient noise, resulting in distortion-free playback. The pitch section has a range of +/-10%, making it suitable for fine tempo adjustments. The RP-1000 MK2 features a statically balanced, S-shaped tonearm with a hydraulic lift and anti-skating mechanism. A universal connection for cartridge systems (SME) allows for a wide variety of cartridges to be connected. The new top-panel design in elegant deep black metallic is equipped with revised metallic buttons for start/stop and speed, providing clear tactile feedback. With the push of a button, the aluminum needle light can be extended, ensuring that the needle position is easily visible even in the dark. The robust construction with optimized damping properties reduces vibrations, and shock-absorbing feet on the underside of the turntable contribute to further isolation. Included with the RP-1000 MK2 is a high-quality OM Black cartridge system, handcrafted by Ortofon in Denmark, along with a matching headshell.
